Hello, I am Deborah Cross, a lived experience and professionally qualified Integrative Fertility Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. After 15 years of lived experience of fertility difficulties and the sad loss of two babies, Caoimhe Dáithí and Cuán, #SayTheirName, I have been able to use these most difficult life altering experiences to provide a professional and person centred fertility and bably loss counselling service. Fertility Counselling Care (NI) is dedicated to supporting clients through the pain and struggles of infertility, donor conception, baby loss and the many other challenges invoked on this most difficult path. I hold registration with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and also membership, alongside foundation and advanced training from the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA). Additionally, I am an active member of the Irish Fertility Counsellors Association (IFCA).
Confidential online sessions ensure privacy, convenience and the highest standards of care for clients across the UK and Ireland.
I hold the required Certificate of Practitioner Insurance and adhere at all time to the BACP, Ethical Framework and Guidelines for Clinical Supervision.

Fertility Counselling Care (NI) specialises primarily in areas of infertility, fertility difficulties, preparedness for treatment, unsuccessful treatment outcomes, egg donation, sperm donation, surrogacy, miscarriage and babyloss. These are our specialised areas of practice in our aspiration to support and help clients to understand, validate, integrate and alleviate the hurt and pain experienced when faced with a difficult road in the purpsuit of parenthood.
Motivated initially by my own lived experience of fertility difficulties, numerous treatment cycles, unsuccessful treatment outcomes, miscarriages and my own immersion in therapy to heal as a woman who finds herself naviagting a life which is childless not by choice. It is my lived experience which propelled me to seek an academic and personal understanding of therapeutic supports to enable me to establish Fertility Counselling Care (NI) in the hope of supporting others.

At Fertility Counselling Care we take a holistic approach to counselling, focusing on the connectors between mind, body, and spirit. Our counsellors are trained in a variety of evidence based techniques and therapies to help our clients achieve optimal emotional and mental wellness. A blend of therapeutic modalities such as person centred integrative therapy supports clients to deal with the ‘typical’ psychological symptoms when faced with a difficult fertility journey. Correlated to their fertility journey we often support clients presenting with low mood, anxiety, depression, life limiting beliefs, relationship difficulties, loss and grief. In addition we also offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as a sole therapeutic modality.
